Singing for your health!
Just a reminder that we have our weekly singing group session at the Youth Headquarters behind St Mary's Church, Atherstone, tomorrow from 1:30-2:30pm. These sessions run every Monday, and due to funding we are able to offer everybody FREE sessions for the next couple of months. The main aim of these sessions is to use singing exercises and songs in a choir format to help people with their breathing technique (and therefore their singing technique!), with a particular focus on people who have chronic lung conditions such as asthma or COPD. However, anyone is more than welcome to come along and join in for free, as research over the years has proved that singing in a group not only helps to improve breath control and increase lung capacity, but also helps to lower blood pressure, exercise the heart & lungs, boost mental health & help people with depression, lower stress & promote relaxation, as well as boosting the immune system!
